![]() ![]() These are known as non-synonymous SNPs (nsSNPs) and are the most frequent cause of Mendelian diseases since they alter the protein’s function. Half a million of these observed SNPs are found within an exon and modify a single amino acid. For example, the dbSNP database (build 138) contains about 62 million SNPs and 11 million Indels. Recently, with the development of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques, the available information related to genetic human variation has evolved rapidly, resulting in overwhelming volumes of data. ![]() This requires the characterization and analysis of the type and distribution of the variations in human populations and/or each individual to understand how a specific genetic landscape can influence human health and behavior. and individual or population characteristics, risk of disease or response to the environment. See the User Guide for how to set up Siri shortcuts.A major goal in human genetics is to understand the links between the presence of genetic variations, including Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs), insertions/deletions (Indels), Copy Number Variants (CNV), recombination events, etc. Alternatively, if you create a Siri shortcut in the app's Settings screen then you can invoke Siri and say, for example, "Pommie restart" to reset back to the 1st period and start the timer running without even having to open the app. You can long press on the stop button in the iOS app or force press on the Watch app and choose "Reset Timer" to quickly reset back to the 1st period. By design, the app will only change the timer when the user asks it to - nice and simple! There are a few ways that could be simulated but it adds complexity and risks just confusing the user. The app doesn't keep running in the background so it can't actually reset the timer automatically at a particular time of the day. Some people work at nights and wouldn't want the timer to reset at midnight. The app doesn't automatically reset the timer every day because it's difficult to know what a sensible definition for a "day" is. Ideally you start the timer running then don't even need to open the app for hours - just wait for notifications and use the action buttons in the notification or ask Siri to stop the timer when required. I deliberately made the app just a timer and chose not to add tracking/counting of rounds in order to keep it simpler and more focused. The only reason I don’t give Pommie five stars is that it doesn’t have the ability to set a daily target and doesn’t automatically reset the pomodoro counter every day.
